INSITE CAREERS AT KIER
Apply Now

Each application process has been thought through very carefully to give you every opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Just remember, this is a two way process where you should seize the opportunity to ask questions that will help you shape your application and decide if we're as right for you as you might be for us.

GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Firstly, click on the apply now button to search for graduate/undergraduate opportunities. You'll need to fill out our online application form and attach your CV, so we start to build a picture of who you are, what you're proud of, what sets you apart and shows off your individual flair.

If successful, you'll be invited to a competency based interview that lasts about 40 minutes - where we'll run through any work and placement experience as well as trying to get a better understanding of why you are interested in our business, what it is you like about Kier, as well as competency-based questions. And the final stage takes place at our HQ where you'll attend an assessment day.

Here you'll join your peers, where you'll take part in a number of tasks. There'll be a group exercise (typically this is to show us how you solve problems and work as part of a team); verbal and numerical reasoning papers; a technical or business-oriented interview to understand how well you know your stuff and finally there's a presentation where you'll find out more about Kier.

If, after all this, you like us and we like you... you'll soon become part of Kier. And we couldn't be happier.

FOUNDATION DEGREE PROGRAMME

Your first step is to go to the apply section of this site, where you'll need to fill out an online application form and attach your CV, which starts to show us a bit about you, what you like and how you'll fit in at Kier.

If you are successful at this stage, we will then invite you to an interview (probably no more than an hour), which may be followed by a second. This will be held either at the local company's office or even on-site if it's easier for travel purposes.

Each interview will vary dependent on the company, but you'll certainly want to put forward the best case you can - so bringing along supporting evidence of academic, sporting and personal achievements is only going to help. Additionally, if you have any letters from previous employers or work experience placements where they sing your praises, then all the better!

Remember we want you to succeed, so don't be nervous, this is meant to give you the space to show us what you're made of - not trip you up.

All offers will be subject to completing a successful application to Oxford Brookes University, but your company will guide you through this in readiness for the start of the academic year in January.

DEGREE SPONSORSHIP

Your first step is to go to the apply section of this site, where you'll need to fill out an online application form and attach your CV, which starts to show us a bit about you, what you like and how you'll fit in at Kier. If successful, you'll be invited to attend an assessment day at our main office in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

The day is designed to let you show us what you're good at, and remember we want you to do well. It will include a group exercise (we'll want to see how you deal with challenges and how you work as part of a team); verbal and numerical reasoning papers and an interview which will last around 40 minutes.

Among other things the interviewer will want to find out about your commitment to your career choice, what it is about Kier that made you apply and what makes you stand out - what is your individual flair? So be prepared. Make it personable and make it memorable, but don't make it up! And don't forget, we need to be as right for you as you do for us, so come prepared with any questions you may have too.

APPRENTICESHIPS

To join our apprenticeship scheme we'll need you to pass a "skills learning test" (you'll get the chance to do some practice papers beforehand) and come to an interview (where you'll be sent a short questionnaire to prepare you). The process is there for you to see if we're right for you, and to see if you're right for us. It's meant to be a two way thing, so think about any questions you may have for the interview in advance.
