Should I apply for the Graduate Development Programme or Business Management Programme while still at University?

Absolutely. While we do accept applications from graduates who have completed their degree within the last two years, we’re looking for those who want to seize opportunities. And fast. You’ll need to apply in October of your final year, to get a place for the following summer.

How many graduates do you employ each year?

We’re serious about injecting new talent to our business and this has varied from 40 to over 100 each year.

What sort of person are you looking for?

We’re looking for someone who already upholds our values without knowing them (you’ll find these throughout this site and our main corporate site). You’ll also need to prove a genuine passion for Kier and what we’re trying to achieve, which will be supported by a relevant qualification.

What degree subjects are you looking for?

For the graduate development programme, you’ll need at least a 2:1 or higher qualification on an accredited degree relevant to the position being advertised. Typically we look for quantity surveying, civil engineering, design & build or construction management, although we will consider other areas. For the business management programme, we’re looking for a degree (2:1) that supports someone’s commitment to developing their management skills.

Can I apply if I need a work permit?

Yes, however you must be eligible to live and work permanently in the UK without restriction. Any application and securing of relevant work permit must be secured before starting.
